MathDisk

A powerful web tool that integrates math & technology seamlessly, by having teachers develop interactive math worksheets. Using simplicity & collaborated features, MathDisk was designed with teachers in mind. Through the “Math Builder” tool teachers can design mathematics models that students can view online. Using in combination with a textbook, this would help students in being able to visualize, interact with, & explore mathematical concepts. A great feature is that MathDisk can be used offline & used on tablet devices.

If you don’t have time to create your own materials, there is a gallery of pages & models that you can use. Download a worksheet that you like, & embedded it on your school website.

Math Live

Is a website that 3rd-6th grade teachers should look at whenever they are starting a new unit. It’s packed with great TV like episodes in a cartoon format introducing many different math concepts. What’s great is that it introduces math concepts so show how math applies in everyday life. Give it a look & see what you think!

Mathwire

Designed to provide activities & worksheets for teachers. All material supports a hands-on approach to learning mathematic skills. Also a bonus, all materials support NCTM Standards. Activities & worksheets are classroom-tested by teachers & have been modified to reflect this field-testing.

TenMarks

(Teacher Guest Post - Mrs. Clark, 3rd Grade Teacher)

Tenmarks is a wonderful website that provides a teacher with the opportunity to give his or her students more math practice on various topics. It is a free website that allows you to set up a class, assign them the math concepts that you are working on, & get feedback on how they perform. Each student is given a login name & password. The student is then able to login & use Tenmarks at school or at home. After every week the teacher is sent a progress report about how the class does as whole. The teacher is also able to see how each individual student is doing. The site even lets the teacher know the amount of time that each student is on task. In third grade we use Tenmarks throughout the year & love the practice it gives our students!
